It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Congratulations to KONRAD SCHWOERKE, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A psychic impaled on a post,
\nWho was weary of being a host,
\nSaid: “I’m not at all mad;
\nIt’s a boon to me, Vlad,
\nCuz I’m ready to give up the ghost.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Brian Allgar, Fred Bortz<\/a>, Allen Wilcox, Byron Ives, and Jon Gearhart. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Brian Allgar: <\/p>\n

The bugler had played the Last Post,
\nAnd they\u2019d drunk a memorial toast.
\nBut they heard a faint shout
\nFrom the grave: \u201cLemme out!\u201d
\nFor the Colonel was far from a ghost.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Fred Bortz:<\/p>\n

The priest was removed from his post
\nFor creating a fraudulent host.
\nThe substitute cracker
\nWith nary a backer
\nWas leftover stale garlic toast.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Allen Wilcox: <\/p>\n

A woman decided to post
\nFacebook pictures revealing the most
\nPrivate parts of her bod
\nWith no text \u2013 why, how odd?
\nShe was way, way too bashful to boast.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Byron Ives: <\/p>\n

With zits like a knotty pine post,
\nShe repulsed all her peers, at least most.
\nBut brainy Jerome
\nHeld her hand, walked her home.
\nShe had netted much more than she grossed<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jon Gearhart: <\/p>\n

My wife may be dumb as a post,
\nBut that’s not what matters the most.
\nHer heart’s golden pure,
\nShe’s loyal for sure,
\nAnd spreads quicker than butter on toast!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar: <\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll find I\u2019m as stiff as a post,\u201d
\nWas the hopeful Lothario’s boast.
\nBut the girl, unimpressed,
\nSaid \u201cYou\u2019re just like the rest,
\nExcept that you\u2019re shorter than most.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
