The Intruder (4-Verse Limerick)

It’s dark and we’re out on our deck.
\nMy sandals are off and then… Heck!
\nI yell words rather worse
\nAnd I scream and I curse
\nAnd turn into a blubbering wreck.<\/p>\n
For my toes had encountered some ooze
\nWhen I slipped my feet into my shoes.
\nSeems a large, squishy slug
\nHad crawled (like a bug)
\nIn my sandal. I now need some booze.<\/p>\n
I jump and run off to the sink.
\nAbout gook, I am raising a stink.
\nMark examines my sandal
\nAnd freaks at the vandal;
\nThat mollusk still lurks there, the fink!<\/p>\n
“It’s gross and gigantic,” he yells.
\n“And it’s slimy. Like snails without shells.”
\nThen he acts like a hero
\nAnd wins. Mollusk zero!
\nIn my sandal, it no longer dwells.<\/p>\n

Are you familiar with slugs? They’re gross-looking, squishy critters (sort of snails without shells.) Super disgusting!<\/p>\n
Now imagine you’re sitting on your porch in the dark, watching a video when, unbeknownst to you, a slug crawls into one of your sandals.<\/p>\n
Now picture absent-mindedly sliding your foot into that sandal.<\/p>\n
Yes, I screamed at the top of my lungs.<\/p>\n
And yes, Mark thought I was insane, until I made him look inside my sandal.<\/p>\n
But Mark did ultimately redeem himself by disposing of that large, snake-like critter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
