It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to TIM JAMES, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

Her eyes were the color of slate.
\nAnd her oral endurance? First-rate.
\nHalf a dozen and two
\nGuys collapsed while she blew.
\nIt all proved that she sure could fell eight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to SCOTT CROWDER, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

Her eyes were the color of slate.
\nHer breasts would increase my heart’s rate.
\nAnd now that I think
\nOf the part that was pink,
\nThis last line will just have to wait.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The sea was the color of slate
\nWhen we spied her afloat on a crate.
\nOnce aboard our small ship
\nShe began a slow strip,
\nSo we drew to see who she’d first mate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Chris Doyle: <\/p>\n

With an Aussie tour topping his slate,
\nWilliam tended to matters of state.
\nHe could not have foretold
\nWhat the world would behold
\nOn his trip — the “down under” of Kate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jen Harris:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m forgetful \u2014 my mind\u2019s a blank slate.
\nBut poetry can carry weight.
\nNow \u2013 what was I writing?
\nFor what am I fighting?
\nPlease apprize me, before it\u2019s too late.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brian Allgar: <\/p>\n

His teeth are the colour of slate;
\nHe walks with a simian gait;
\nHe has a huge belly
\nThat shakes like a jelly —
\nWhich is why he prefers a blind date.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

CJ@ProArtz: <\/p>\n

I\u2019m aging \u2014 my mind\u2019s a blank slate.
\nMy hair loss reveals a bald pate.
\nI\u2019m so ready to squeal
\nOver lost sex appeal.
\nMy only gain, lately, is weight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sue Dulley:<\/p>\n

The menu, scrawled out on a slate
\nIn the pub, let us choose what we ate.
\nThe food was not ‘light’
\nAnd the staff took all night,
\nBut the dinner was well worth the weight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Fred Bortz: <\/p>\n

With Agnew on Tricky Dick’s slate,
\nThe country would first have to wait
\nFor Crook 2 to resign.
\nThen the boss was in line
\nTo receive his appropriate fate.<\/p>\n

But Gerry Ford then cleared the slate,
\nLeaving us in a dubious state.
\nBut there’s one thing for sure,
\nWhen a pol is impure,
\nThe scandal will end with a “gate.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
