It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to KONRAD SCHWOERKE, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A crabber got into a scrap
\nWith a mermaid who gave him a slap.
\n\u2019Twas his rude repartee
\nAfter setting her free.
\nHe should never have opened his trap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Colleen Murphy<\/a>, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

My husband decided to scrap
\nThe need for consulting a map,
\nWhich of course would explain
\nHow we ended in Maine,
\nInstead of the Cumberland Gap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Brian Allgar, Chris Doyle, Colleen Murphy<\/a>, and Tim James. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Brian Allgar: <\/p>\n

A fellow got into a scrap
\nWhen undoing the bimbo\u2019s bra-strap.
\nAs he tugged the elastic,
\nHe punctured the plastic,
\nDeflating the doll on his lap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Chris Doyle: <\/p>\n

It appears I will soon have to scrap
\nUsing plastic to buy all my crap.
\nKeeping MasterCard waiting
\nFor payment’s creating
\nA creditability gap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

The young lass decided to scrap
\nHer plans with the old British chap.
\nThough he rocked in a suit
\nAnd his accent was cute,
\nToo often he needed a nap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

On Fridays he\u2019d frequently scrap
\nAll his scruples, and not give a crap.
\nFirst a keg of good brew
\nFollowed up with a screw:
\nAn end-of-the-week double tap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
