Laughlin<\/a>, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In the time I\u2019ve grown old, I&#8217;ve grown round.<br \/>\nBut here\u2019s a dilemma I\u2019ve found:<br \/>\nThe young people swear<br \/>\nThat I\u2019ve also grown *square*.<br \/>\nThe geometry doesn\u2019t seem sound!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Congratulations to Jamie Hutchinson, who wins this week&#8217;s Facebook Friends&#8217; Choice Award for this <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/outrage-over-sign-language-interpreter-madiba-memorial-082056835.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">news-related<\/a> limerick which received the most Facebook &#8220;likes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The story is getting around<br \/>\nAnd it\u2019s bound to offend and dumbfound:<br \/>\nThat interpreter guy<br \/>\nAt Mandela\u2019s goodbye?<br \/>\nA phony! How very unsound!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Congratulations to Mark Kane and Diane Groothuis, who jointly win a special Limerick Repartee Award for this limerick exchange:<\/p>\n<p>Mark Kane:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>We&#8217;re eager to both fool around<br \/>\nAt a private discreet picnic ground.<br \/>\nSo we lie on a table,<br \/>\nAlthough it&#8217;s not stable,<br \/>\nAnd push past the risks that abound.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Diane Groothuis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>There&#8217;s a problem with fooling around<br \/>\nAt that somewhat discreet picnic ground.<br \/>\nYou forgot about Tom,<br \/>\nThe creep peeping scum<br \/>\nWho watches not making a sound.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mark Kane:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As we rolled onto Tom, round and round,<br \/>\nHe then squealed with a very loud sound!<br \/>\nHad he stayed out of sight,<br \/>\nUntil day changed to night,<br \/>\nWe might well have resumed on the ground.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>(This is only a taste of a lengthy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/madkane\/posts\/10151886281629315\">picnic limerick exchange on Facebook,<\/a> including more limericks by Mark and Diane and a limerick by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fredbortz.com\/\">Fred Bortz.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfreporter.com\/santafe\/blogs-1-1-1-36.html\">Robert Basler<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fredbortz.com\/\">Fred Bortz<\/a>, Tim James, Sue Dulley, Jon Gearhart,<br \/>\nKathy El-Assal, and <a href=\"http:\/\/wtlaughlin.com\/\">Will T. Not caring,<br \/>\nGreat riches not sharing,<br \/>\nAnd finding that Ayn Rand&#8217;s profound.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Will T. Laughlin:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Sarah Palin?
