It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Jamie Hutchinson, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

As she gathered the sheets in a wrap,
\nA lover spoke true to her chap:
\n\u201cYour performance? \u2014 no cause
\nFor thund\u2019rous applause.
\nBut it\u2019s likely I gave you the clap.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Steve Whitred<\/a>, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

A Sapphic was trying to wrap
\nA toy to be worn with a strap.
\nThen she wrote on the label:
\n“My dear darling Mabel,
\nD\u2019ya wanna pretend you\u2019re a chap?”\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Craig Dykstra, Diane Groothuis, Colleen Murphy<\/a>, David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose<\/a>, Patrice Stewart a\/k\/a Patrice Jenine a\/k\/a Patrice of the ManyCats, and Tim James. The thief saw her fine ermine wrap
\nAnd her neckline that plunged to her lap.
\nTwixt her breasts was some bling,
\nBut the thing was a sting;
\nHe got caught in the ol’ booby-trap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Diane Groothuis: <\/p>\n

When the goy in the shul wore a wrap
\nAnd a blue and white yarmulke (cap),
\nRabbi said in surprise,
\n“That is just a disguise.
\nYour book’s upside down my dear chap.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

Before you try learning to rap,
\nYou should test out your skills with the snap.
\nIf you can\u2019t hold a beat
\nWith your fingers or feet,
\nThen it’s likely the same with your yap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose:<\/p>\n

A gal in an elegant wrap
\nWoke up from a 20-year nap.
\nShe turned on the news
\nAnd shouted out: “Who’s
\nThis White House mahogany chap?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Patrice of the ManyCats:<\/p>\n

She lunged for his knuckles: rap, rap!
\n\u201cYou know I won\u2019t take any crap
\nWhen I\u2019m your mean teacher!
\nYou wanna play preacher?\u201d
\nThey grinned, then she sat on his lap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Diane Groothuis:<\/p>\n

Miss Muffett was eating a wrap
\nWhile sitting on Jack Horner’s lap.
\nShe had finished two thirds
\nAnd gave some to the birds,
\nBut to Jack said “No whey you poor sap.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

A guy used aluminum wrap
\nTightly set on his head as a cap.
\nAnd just why\u2019s that the case?
\nIt blocks mind beams from space.
\n(His campaign to be Prez is on tap.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
