It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Dear Boss: as your ears and your eyes,
\nI\u2019m one of the best of your spies.
\nStill… unless ficus trees
\nAre expected to sneeze,
\nThey may have seen through my disguise.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Chris Doyle, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

Manhattan has opened my eyes
\nTo a deli where bread is the prize.
\nIt’s chewy, nutritious,
\nAnd truly delicious!
\nTry Katz’s — the site for sour ryes.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Craig Dykstra, Ira Bloom, Gary Hallock<\/a>, Sue Dulley, Chris Doyle, Kevin Ahern<\/a>, and Bill Klein<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Craig Dykstra:<\/p>\n

A nympho with beautiful eyes
\nTreated men to a flash of her thighs.
\nWith a wink and a leer
\nShe’d say “What I’ve got here
\nIs a thing you should try on for sighs.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ira Bloom: <\/p>\n

A woman with stars in her eyes,
\nSaid “My art I will not compromise.
\nI can sing, dance and act,
\nA young Garbo, in fact.
\nBy the way, would you like that with fries?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gary Hallock:<\/p>\n

The vote from young men is all “ayes”
\nWhen a pole dancer gyrates her thighs.
\nI also should mention
\nThey’ll stand at attention
\nAlthough, from their seats, they don’t rise.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sue Dulley:<\/p>\n

A woman with near-perfect eyes
\nOn contacts and glasses relies,
\nThe former for schmoozing,
\nThe latter for boozing,
\nAnd specs when she wants to look wise.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Chris Doyle: <\/p>\n

She was not, by the look in her eyes,
\nAll that pleased by my biceps and thighs.
\nI got very low scores
\nTill she checked in my drawers
\nAnd said, “Whoa, that’s economy-size!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kevin Ahern: <\/p>\n

To parents all rolling their eyes
\nAt the questions their children devise,
\nPlease, do not get weary;
\nFor every query
\n\u201cBecause\u201d is a word to the whys.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bill Klein:<\/p>\n

A woman with nearsighted eyes
\nFelt the moisture that dampened her thighs.
\nHer man, with alarm,
\nSaid \u201cYou\u2019re sucking my arm,\u201d
\nWhich cut her mood back down to size.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
