It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Craig Dykstra, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

The young actress was pretty indeed.
\n(And the men she seduced all agreed.)
\nThough she read from the heart,
\nShe did not get the part.
\nBut she did, I am told, get the lead.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Colleen Murphy<\/a>, Konrad Schwoerke, and Mark Kane who are in a three-way tie for this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award:<\/p>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

The bloke did a dastardly deed
\nWhen he laced Henry’s cupcakes with weed.
\n“I wanted the fellow
\nTo feel a bit mellow.
\nBe grateful it wasn’t with speed!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Konrad Schwoerke: <\/p>\n

The daft Duke did a dangerous deed.
\n\u2019Twas ungraciously gauche most agreed,
\nAn unthinkable thing
\nIn the court of a king.
\nNot the place I\u2019d\u2019ve picked to have peed!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mark Kane: <\/p>\n

A baker had done a good deed.
\nTurned a young man away from his greed:
\n“Sure you’re chasing the bread,
\nBut don’t be mislead,
\nYou just might<\/strong> find you’ll get what you knead.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nYet decided to join the stampede.

Patrice of the ManyCats: <\/p>\n

Oh yes, he had just done the deed;
\nHe heeded \u201cthe call\u201d and he peed.
\n\u201cAnother disaster!
\nBud, can\u2019t you learn faster?\u201d
\nRemember, your puppy can\u2019t read.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose:<\/p>\n

“Damascus is guilty indeed,”
\nSays Kerry to those who would heed,
\nWhile Obama, in Sweden,
\nIs beggin’ and pleadin’
\nFor those who would follow his lead.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cyn:<\/p>\n

A teen told her father, \u201cIndeed,
\nYou texted me. That I\u2019ll concede.
\nBut I\u2019ve not the skill
\nOf texting while still—
\nI have to be driving to read.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
