It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Scott Crowder, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

The pressure was taking its toll.
\nI had neither a bong, nor a bowl,
\nAnd was sick to my heart
\nWhen my joint fell apart.
\nRegrettably, that\u2019s how I roll.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Jamie Hutchinson, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

The golf course had taken its toll
\nOn a fellow whose lover was droll:
\n“You missed every green
\nAnd got drunk on nineteen.
\nNow you’ve bogeyed the twentieth hole.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Steve Whitred<\/a>, David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose<\/a>, Tim James, and Colleen Murphy<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Steve Whitred:<\/p>\n

Swimming circles was taking its toll,
\nRound and round in the same silly bowl.
\nShe had only one wish:
\nTo escape from her dish.
\nWhat she had was a clear bold fish goal.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Lefkovits: <\/p>\n

The Koreans may put in a toll
\nOn the highway from Pyongyang to Seoul.
\nIf the south side you’re on,
\nYou could pay it in won;
\nIn the north you can barter with coal.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

There are some things I just have to thole:
\nWhen Mad\u2019s rhyme words imbue me with dole.
\n(To decode: I must bear
\nAwful grief and despair.
\nPompous speech here\u2019s my primary goal.)\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

Too much smoking and sun take a toll.
\nAsk my girlfriend from Queens, bless her soul.
\nShe was born a real cutie,
\nTurned into a beauty,
\nAnd now she resembles a troll.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
