I’ve\u00a0been having so much fun drawing inspiration from poetry prompts, that I thought I’d launch my own.\u00a0 And since\u00a0I’m seriously (and unseriously) into limericks and haiku, I’m focusing on those two forms.<\/p>\n
Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to write a limerick or haiku (or both) on this week’s theme: Annoying Advice.\u00a0 When your poem’s taken root, please return to this post and add a direct link to your themed poem.<\/p>\n
Here’s my Annoying Advice limerick:<\/p>\n
Chin Up
\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n
“Keep your chin up, and things will be fine.
\nJust act brave. Do not bitch, flinch, or whine.
\nYou have the right stuff.
\nYou just have to hang tough.”
\nDoes anyone fall for that line?\u00a0<\/p>\n
And here’s my Annoying Advice haiku:<\/p>\n
When somebody says
\n“You sure you want to do that?”
\nDoubt perversely fades.<\/p>\n
