It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Jamie Hutchinson, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

The technician connects the wrong port
\nAnd the motherboard\u2019s fried by the short.
\nHis client, in shock,
\nCommences to squawk:
\n\u201cI\u2019ll sue you in high circuit court!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Jamie Hutchinson, who also wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for the same limerick, which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Steve Whitred<\/a>, Irv Leavitt<\/a>, Colleen Murphy<\/a>, Craig Dykstra, Tom Harris<\/a>, and Johanna Richmond. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Steve Whitred:<\/p>\n

A fellow was sipping some port,
\nWhen his partner yelled \u201cQuick look athwart!\u201d
\nHe looked up and around
\nThen surprisingly found
\nThat his wine glass was two fingers short.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Irv Leavitt: <\/p>\n

A young lawyer was sipping some port
\nBy the side of the racquetball court.
\nHe offered a drink
\nTo his partner in pink
\nWith a prior intent to cavort.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

A mother was sipping some port
\n(Her kids were the challenging sort),
\nThen tried to make dinner
\nWhich wasn’t a winner:
\nHer soup was a few noodles short.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Craig Dykstra:<\/p>\n

While on shore leave, a sailor in port
\nGot arrested and hauled off to court.
\nSeems he had a few beers
\nAnd then stole girls\u2019 brassieres —
\nHe got busted for lack of support.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tom Harris:<\/p>\n

The woman said mine was too short,
\nOf the dull, microscopic type sort.
\n\u201cYou\u2019re not<\/strong> a sex symbol
\nWith that little thimble.\u201d
\nPerhaps if she\u2019d had some more port.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Johanna Richmond: <\/p>\n

A woman was sipping some port
\nWhen her mom-in-law said with a snort,
\n\u201cHe was raised on filet,
\nBut my son has a way
\nOf attracting the casserole sort.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
