I hope you\u2019ll join me in writing a limerick with one of these two alternative first lines:<\/p>\n

\nThere once was a kitty named Brad…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

or <\/p>\n

\nThere once was a fellow named Brad…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Here’s mine. (It’s a two-verse limerick, but a standard five-line limerick is fine, of course.)<\/p>\n

Catty Limerick
\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n

There once was a kitty named Brad
\nWhose attraction to catnip was rad.
\nHe would sniff it and eat it
\nAnd quickly deplete it.
\nWas kitty addicted? A tad.<\/p>\n

When his owner had failed to buy more,
\nThe kitty sneaked into a store
\nAnd ate all the herb,
\nBut got caught at the curb
\nSound asleep and beginning to snore.<\/p>\n
