It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Scott Crowder, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A fellow who wasn\u2019t too bright,
\nWas talking while sleeping last night,
\n\u2018Til his wife yelled \u201cYou Cad!
\nWho the hell is Miss Mad?
\nAnd why must your meter feel right?\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Phyllis Sterling Smith a\/k\/a Granny Smith<\/a>, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

A fellow who wasn’t too bright
\nTried improving at school ev’ry night.
\nTold, “Spell coffee,” he tried
\nAnd he answered with pride,
\n“K-A-Double U-P-H-Y. Right?”\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Craig Dykstra, Robert Schechter, Kirk Miller, Beth Parsons, Johanna Richmond, Tim O’N., and Tim James. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

A woman who wasn\u2019t too bright
\nMet the Wong twins, who asked if she might
\nTake them both for a spin.
\nShe said \u201cSex is a sin!\u201d
\nThey convinced her two Wongs make a right.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Robert Schechter: <\/p>\n

A vampire who wasn’t too bright
\nConfused early morning for night.
\nHe went from undead
\nTo dead-dead instead
\nWhen he stepped out in dawn’s early light.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kirk Miller:<\/p>\n

Proctologists\u2019 outlooks aren\u2019t bright.
\nThey\u2019re gloomy, as black as the night.
\nThey\u2019re depressed, and why not?
\nIn despair they are caught,
\nBecause always the end is in sight.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Beth Parsons:<\/p>\n

A woman who wasn\u2019t too bright
\nSaid her red state would surely vote \u2018right.\u2019
\nWhen she picked up the papers
\nShe swooned from the vapors:

\nFound a new way to act on his spite.
\nHe was simply an ass
\nTill his wife wanted sass;
