It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Congratulations to David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose<\/a>, who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A fellow was trying his hand
\nAt arranging a hot one-night stand.
\nSaid the lady: \u201cReports are,
\nYour Calvin Klein shorts are,
\nAt best, insufficiently manned.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Scott Crowder, who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

A fellow was trying his hand
\nAt teaching his dog a command.
\nBut he slurred just a bit,
\nAnd when he said \u201cSit,\u201d
\nHe got a bit more than he planned.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Craig Dykstra, Tim James, Brendan Beary, Richard Diakun, Carolyn Henly, and John Peter Larkin. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Craig Dykstra:<\/p>\n

A friend of mine once tried his hand
\nSelling frozen treats down by the sand.
\nBut the end of the summer
\nKilled business \u2013 a bummer!
\nLast night it was Custard\u2019s Last Stand.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tim James:<\/p>\n

\nA fellow was trying his hand
\nAt building a nudie bar brand.
\nBut he made too few hires
\nFor clients’ desires;
\nSupply was outstripped by demand.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brendan Beary: <\/p>\n

A fellow was trying his hand
\nOn the Tokyo stage, but was canned —
\nThe director yelled, “Cut!”
\nThen reproached him with, “What
\nPart of Noh do you not understand?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Richard Diakun:<\/p>\n

The lady again played her hand,
\nAnd this time the pot was a grand.
\nShe got quite a rush
\nAs she showed off her flush.
\nHer cleavage distracted as planned.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Carolyn Henly:<\/p>\n

A poet was trying her hand
\nAt a lim’rick that wouldn\u2019t get panned.
\nThe rhymes were a breeze;
\nShe contrived them with ease.
\nIf only the doggone-son-of-a-jumping-frog last line had scanned.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

John Peter Larkin:<\/p>\n

A fellow was trying his hand
\nAt making his member expand.
\nIt worked rather well.
\nHe said, \u201cThis is swell
\nTo know I can grow on-demand.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
