It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Congratulations to Jane Shelton Hoffman who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A woman was very obsessed
\nWith being a tidy houseguest.
\nShe was not asked agin,
\nThough as neat as a pin,
\nFor she’d cleaned out their medicine chest!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Craig Dykstra and Scott Crowder, who are tied in winning this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for their respective limericks, each of which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

Craig Dykstra: <\/p>\n

Said the wife, when her husband obsessed
\nThat her negligee should have been pressed:
\n“Are you try’na be cruel
\nYou near-sighted old fool?
\nI have already gotten undressed!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott Crowder: <\/p>\n

A fellow was very obsessed,
\nAnd he just couldn\u2019t get any rest,
\n\u2018Til the meter was right,
\nThe rhyming was tight,
\nAnd the syllables properly stressed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose<\/a>, Bill Klein, Bruce Niedt<\/a>, Phyllis Sterling Smith a\/k\/a Granny Smith<\/a>, Jim Delaney, and Colleen Murphy<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

A fellow was very obsessed
\nWith the size of the feminine breast.
\nWhen he’d speak with a lady
\nHis glance was so shady
\n“Up here!” was the oft-heard request.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bill Klein: <\/p>\n

A fellow was very obsessed
\nWith funds he had chanced to invest.
\nBut alas, Facebook stock
\nPromptly dropped like a rock.
\nThus, so did the egg from his nest.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bruce Niedt: <\/p>\n

A father was very obsessed
\nWith the way that his teenage girl dressed:
\n\u201cYou inveterate flirt,
\nThat\u2019s a belt, not a skirt,
\nAnd your blouse reveals most of your chest!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Phyllis Sterling Smith: <\/p>\n

A fellow was very obsessed
\nWith a very old house he possessed
\nOn the Oregon coast,
\nEven had its own ghost.
\nIt’s the spirit that settled the West!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jim Delaney: <\/p>\n

A woman was very obsessed
\nWith her health, as she later confessed.
\nScared of losing her wits,
\nShe kept checking her tits
\nTo make sure she was keeping abreast.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: \u200e<\/p>\n

“My poodle is very obsessed
\nWith mating,” his owner confessed,
\n“The Great Dane next door.
\nBut prospects are poor
\n‘Cause he’s barely a foot high at best.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
