I live in New York City, so my husband Mark and I often catch great musical acts, plays, art shows, and other entertainment and\u00a0cultural diversions in the Big Apple.<\/p>\n

Why don’t I write about our New York fun?\u00a0 I keep meaning to,\u00a0but quickly forget to. Blame ADD<\/a>, a bad memory<\/a>, or just being\u00a0a wee bit disorganized<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Anyway, I’ve decided to\u00a0launch\u00a0a new\u00a0posting category — Night On The Town — in which I’ll\u00a0write more regularly about our Manhattan adventures<\/a> … in theory, anyway.<\/p>\n

And what\u00a0better way to start, than with the\u00a0wonderful Judy Carmichael!<\/a>\u00a0 We caught her stride piano<\/a> act Friday night at the Knickerbocker Bar and Grill<\/a>, and she was excellent, as always.\u00a0Mark and I own every one of her recordings!<\/p>\n

For those who don’t know what stride piano<\/a> is, it’s a\u00a0musical style that originated in Harlem early in the 20th century.\u00a0 And nobody does it better than Judy Carmichael.\u00a0 In fact I love her playing so much, I’ve written her a limerick:<\/p>\n
