It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a><\/p>\n

A fellow had made a mistake
\nWhen trying to use Shake \u2018N Bake.
\nThe crumbs wouldn\u2019t stick
\nTo his poor chicken pick
\n\u2018Cause the darn thing was still wide awake!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Johanna Richmond who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

A woman had made a mistake
\nThough her mom warned, \u201cDon\u2019t marry a rake.\u201d
\nAt her wedding she knew
\nIt was likely a clue
\nWhen his mistress popped out of the cake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order): Elaine Spall,<\/a> J Cosmo Newbery,<\/a> Patrick McKeon, Scott Crowder, and Jamie Hutchinson. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

A woman had made a mistake.
\nHit the gas pedal hard, not the brake.
\nThrough the windshield, with flair
\nShe undressed while mid-air.
\nMight as well skinny dip in the lake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

J Cosmo Newbery:<\/p>\n

A fellow had made a mistake
\nAnd wed a young girl on the \u2018make.\u2019
\nThough she left him quite poor,
\nWhat annoyed him much more
\nWas that even her breasts had been fake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Patrick McKeon:<\/p>\n

A fellow had made a mistake
\nIn his plan for a duck breeding lake.
\nHe went and bought two,
\nBut his flock never grew
\nSince you can\u2019t mate a drake with a drake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scott Crowder:<\/p>\n

A fellow had made a mistake,
\nThat only a moron would make.
\nWhen a girl meets a guy,
\nAnd offers him pie,
\nDon\u2019t tell her you\u2019d rather have cake.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jamie Hutchinson: <\/p>\n

The thought that she\u2019d made a mistake
\nHit a lover at climax\u2019s quake:
\n\u201cOh, God! What a stud!
\nBut this curdles my blood:
\nI\u2019m a succubus\u2014he\u2019s still awake!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
