It\u2019s Limerick-Off time, once again. And that means I write a limerick, and you write your own, using the same first line. Then you post your limerick here and, if you\u2019re a Facebook user, on Facebook too.<\/a><\/p>\n

The best submission will be crowned Limerick Of The Week. (Here\u2019s last week\u2019s Limerick Of The Week Winner<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

How will your poems be judged? By meter, rhyme, cleverness, and humor. (If you\u2019re feeling a bit fuzzy about limerick writing rules, here’s my How To Write A Limerick<\/em><\/a> article.)<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll announce the Limerick of the Week Winner right before I post next week\u2019s Limerick-Off. So that gives you a full week to submit your clever, polished verse.<\/p>\n

I hope you\u2019ll join me in writing a limerick with this first line:<\/p>\n

A fellow was planning to wed…*<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wedded Limerick

A fellow was planning to wed
\nA gal rather awful in bed.
\nWhen he gave her a sex book,
\nHer answer was textbook.
\nSo he married the author instead.<\/p>\n
