{"id":1373,"date":"2010-01-19T03:37:56","date_gmt":"2010-01-19T07:37:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/?p=1373"},"modified":"2010-01-19T03:37:56","modified_gmt":"2010-01-19T07:37:56","slug":"jay-leno","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/2010\/01\/19\/jay-leno\/","title":{"rendered":"Dear Jay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m on Team CoCo, as you can tell from my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/2010\/01\/12\/conan-obrien-class-act\/\">Conan-Leno talk show wars limerick.<\/a>   <\/p>\n<p>But unlike many Team CoCo members, I put most of the blame on NBC &#8230; and not on Jay Leno.  NBC, after all, has been treating both O&#8217;Brien and Leno like two very pricey pawns.  And doing it incompetently, to boot.<\/p>\n<p>Jay&#8217;s been taking quite the beating in the press. So I watched Jay&#8217;s Monday night attempt to <a href=\" http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/life\/television\/news\/2010-01-18-leno-conan_N.htm\">repair his image<\/a> and <a href=\"  http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/hr\/content_display\/news\/e3id183d5e80b48e57c1ff93ac9b9fc563d\">set the record straight<\/a> with interest. Unfortunately, I found his humble, nice guy shtick overdone and just a wee bit nauseating.  Methinks Leno has gotten some really bad public relations advice.<\/p>\n<p>And speaking of advice, here&#8217;s some advice for Jay Leno in limerick form:<\/p>\n<p>Dear Jay<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>Dear Jay, you sure poured it on thick.<br \/>\nYou&#8217;re a poor, lowly country-boy hick?<br \/>\nYou just do what your told?<br \/>\nMerely one of the fold?<br \/>\nGive your PR adviser a kick.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m on Team CoCo, as you can tell from my Conan-Leno talk show wars limerick.
