Congratulations to Byron Miller a\/k\/a Errol Nimbly who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A woman who tended her brood,
\nFollowed hens who had eggs to extrude.
\nWhen a randy old rooster
\nRan up and then goosed her,
\nShe cried, \u201cWhat a foul interlude!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Congratulations to Jane Shelton Hoffman who wins this week’s Facebook Friends’ Choice Award for this limerick which received the most Facebook “likes.”<\/p>\n

A woman who tended to brood
\nDecided to have her hair blued
\nWhen she heard someone say,
\n“She ought to stay gray
\nBecause that color matches her mood.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) David Lefkovits a\/k\/a Dr. Goose<\/a>, Robert Schechter, Jim Delaney, Patience and the Prodigal<\/a>, and RJ Clarken<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

\nWhen a lion considered him food,
\nDeclared, “I’m so sorry
\nTo leave your safari,
\nBut lions are best when eschewed.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jim Delaney:<\/p>\n

A fellow who tended to brood
\nHad the notion to start up a feud.
\nSoon his lust for vendetta
\nOutclassed operetta
\nFor plots that were petty, but skewed.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Patience and the Prodigal:<\/p>\n

A fellow who tended to brood
\nChecked the price of a barrel of crude:
\n\u201cTo the devil and hell
\nWith Exxon and Shell.\u201d
\nFor the rest of his life he canoed!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

RJ Clarken:<\/p>\n

\nOn affairs of the heart, did conclude
\nThat perhaps if he tried
\nA somnambulant bride
\nShe would not run away when pursued.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
