It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to ROBERT SCHECHTER who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A woman who earned a degree
\nIn English said, \u201cOh lucky me!
\nThe honor! The glamour!
\nThe job-offer clamor!
\nWhat\u2019s that? No, the pickles are free.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Madeleine Sara Maddocks<\/a>, Robert Basler<\/a>, Kathy El-Assal, and Steve Bumgarner. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

A fellow who had a degree
\nCould get you one too, for a fee.
\n“With a Bachelor of Art
\nYou could make out you\u2019re smart
\nBut it\u2019s more for the full MSc.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Robert Basler:<\/p>\n

A fellow who had a degree
\nFailed at playing his new DVD.
\nHe said, \u201cWhat a fool!
\n\u201cAll that time spent at school,
\n\u201cAnd I cannot turn on my TV?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kathy El-Assal:<\/p>\n

A woman who had a degree
\nEn fran\u00e7ais, took a trip to Paris.
\nShe was very polite
\nSo she took great delight
\nIn saying \u201cje t\u2019aime\u201d and \u201cmerci.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Steve Bumgarner:<\/p>\n

A fellow who had a degree,
\nTook the lowly job sweeping debris.
\nNo stress, but a hitch:
\nMinimum wage is a bitch.
\nAt this rate he\u2019d not make bourgeoisie.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
