It’s time to announce the latest Limerick of the Week based on submissions (on this blog and on Facebook) in last week’s Limerick-Off.<\/a> I’m very pleased to announce the winning Limerick of the Week and the Honorable Mentions:<\/p>\n

Congratulations to DAVID MCCORMICK a\/k\/a AdamantYves<\/a> who wins Limerick of the Week for this funny verse:<\/p>\n

A fellow who ran a campaign
\nCalled, \u201cMAKE ENGLISH SPELLING MORE SAIGN\u201d
\nHad been told by his betters
\n“Avoid silent letters!”;
\nGood advice – alas, given in vaign.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And congratulations to these Honorable Mention winners (in random order) Robert Schechter, Colleen Murphy<\/a>, Johanna Richmond, and RJ Clarken<\/a>. Here are their respective Honorable Mention limericks:<\/p>\n

Robert Schechter: <\/p>\n

A fellow who ran a campaign
\nCould scarcely conceal his disdain
\nFor folks unlike him
\nWhose prospects were dim
\nSince he’d downsized their asses at Bain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Colleen Murphy: <\/p>\n

A woman who ran a campaign
\nGot stuck in a downpour of rain.
\nHer speech it was flawless
\nExcept she was braless.
\nHer attempts to retract were in vain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Johanna Richmond:<\/p>\n

G-O-P-ers who’ve waged a campaign
\nAgainst women: You’d better abstain
\nFrom believing your dicks
\nMake us powerless chicks
\nOr bleed votes from the jugular vein.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rj Clarken: <\/p>\n

A fellow who ran a campaign
\nOn a platform of eminent domain
\nWas surprised when his lands
\nWent for government plans.
\n\u201cI didn\u2019t mean me,\u201d he\u2019d complain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
