{"id":10801,"date":"2012-01-12T17:59:19","date_gmt":"2012-01-12T21:59:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/?p=10801"},"modified":"2012-11-17T14:11:22","modified_gmt":"2012-11-17T18:11:22","slug":"chris-bearde-facebook-friends-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.madkane.com\/humor_blog\/2012\/01\/12\/chris-bearde-facebook-friends-politics\/","title":{"rendered":"Political Un-Friendship (Limerick)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My Facebook friend, <a href=\"http:\/\/chrisbearde.wordpress.com\/\">comedy writer\/director\/producer Chris Bearde<\/a>,  recently said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Satire, taken broadly as a form of comedy protest, will bring you FB friends and lose you some too&#8230; so the playing field is always level.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chris&#8217;s comments inspired me to write this limerick:<\/p>\n<p>Political Un-Friendship (Limerick)<br \/>\nBy Madeleine Begun Kane<\/p>\n<p>Facebook friends can at times take offense<br \/>\nAt jokes at their party&#8217;s expense.<br \/>\nIf they click on &#8220;unfriend&#8221;<br \/>\nIn order to end<br \/>\nSuch humor exposure, they&#8217;re dense.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: I&#8217;ve just found out that November 17th is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.webpronews.com\/national-unfriend-day-is-saturday-and-jimmy-kimmel-has-some-suggestions-2012-11\">National Unfriend Day.<\/a> Apparently, the holiday was invented three years ago by Jimmy Kimmel.  So, who should be &#8220;unfriended?&#8221; According to Kimmel, the  \u201cproud parent,\u201d \u201cthe Instagrammer,\u201d and the \u201coverly-political poster\u201d should all be history.
