A princess expressed her dismay
For discomfort she felt as she lay
Through tons of bedding, you see,
She still felt the pea
And for this, surely someone should pay!

But, alas! Prince always wins the day…
To him, her suff’ring was okay!
Since the pea hurt her so,
For HIM marriage was a go
For her? She had nothing to say.
