LOL! Many years ago my wife and I built a place on the California coast. I had just turned 55. We had some things to drop off at the dump, and I saw that on turning 55, I was entitled to a half price senior discount.

We pulled up to the dump and I mentioned to the lady that I was entitled to the senior discount. She replied, “You’re kidding”. I had to show her my driver’s license. I got carded at the Mendocino dump!

I guess this is the timeline of maturity:
stage one: pray you won’t be carded
stage two : disappointed you still appear young enough to get carded
stage three: flattered that you are carded
stage four: disbelief that you are carded
stage five: laugh at being carded
